CUSTOM INTERIOR DESIGN PLAN
Every French Gray Interiors project begins with a thoughtful and detailed design process created to provide clarity, creativity, and peace of mind. We believe in a phased approach that honors both the artistry and logistics of great design.
Our work unfolds in two distinct phases, each with its own defined scope and fee structure—allowing flexibility based on your needs and timeline:
PHASE ONE: CUSTOM INTERIOR DESIGN PLAN
We begin with phase one, the conception phase, called the Custom Interior Design Plan (CIDP), which establishes the overall vision and detailed design direction for your home. The Custom Interior Design Plan is a personalized and comprehensive conceptual design plan inspired by your individual style and the unique character of your home. It provides a complete aesthetic and functional roadmap, serving as the creative foundation for your project.
PHASE TWO: FULL-SERVICE DESIGN IMPLEMENTATION
Once Phase One is complete and approved, most clients choose to continue with Phase Two, the implementation phase, called our Full-Service Design Implementation. During this phase, we manage each step of procurement, delivery, and installation to bring your design to life. This is a seamless, end-to-end service where our team manages every detail of turning your approved design into reality
RENOVATION & NEW BUILD PROJECTS
When executing a Renovation or New Build Design Plan, French Gray Interiors serves as your personal design liaison, collaborating closely with you and your architects, builders, contractors, and installers to create a cohesive, detailed plan for your home.
We thoughtfully develop a complete design plan based on your aesthetic preferences, functional needs, and the way you envision living in your space. We work hand in hand with you and your team throughout the entire renovation or new build project. Our goal is to help you create a home that is both beautiful and livable, with every selection working in harmony.
Please note: This service does not include the selection and procurement of furniture, fabrics, window treatments, artwork, or decorative accessories. It applies only to the architectural and permanently installed “hard materials” , finishes and fixtures within your home.

WHY THE NAME “FRENCH GRAY?”
French Gray is one of my favorite paint colors. I chose the name to the confusion of many friends who pointed out the oddity that Farrow & Ball’s French Gray is actually a light sage green color. In all honesty, alone French Gray is not the most exciting color, yet when it is paired with a crisp or even a warm white it creates a beautiful balance that is both sophisticated and welcoming. The warm tone of French Gray draws you in and sets the stage for a cozy and somewhat unexpected palette.
WHAT IS YOUR DESIGN STYLE?
Growing up in historic Williamsburg, VA, classical design with southern roots has always influenced my work. Most importantly, I strive to provide my clients with timeless interiors dictated by their individual personalities and unique dwellings.
